NCRA
offers opportunities for front-line research in Radio Astronomy
and Astrophysics. Areas of research at NCRA include studies
of observational cosmology, quasars, radio galaxies, nearby
galaxies, interstellar medium, pulsars, stars, solar system
as well as techniques of synthesis imaging and image processing. |

The
NCRA Library was established in 1989. The library has a
large collection of books on Astronomy, Astrophysics, Mathematics,
Physics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer
Science.
The library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of
books on Astronomy & Astrophysics that is useful for
the academic members and research scholars. The major objective
of the library is to organise the collection and make it
available to the users at NCRA, Pune and GMRT, Khodad.
The library uses SLIM software version 3.0 for all the library
operations. The library database is available on the intranet
for the library users at NCRA and GMRT.
The NCRA library has a total of 7300 books and 4500 bound
journal volumes. The GMRT library has 2000 books and 1000
bound volumes. The library at the GMRT site is still in
its infant stages and we plan to develop it more in the
coming years.
New Books are acquired based on the suggestions made by
the library users at NCRA and GMRT. The NCRA library acquires
books for the NCRA, GMRT and RAC, Ooty libraries. |
